Land owner gains valuable info with automatic traffic survey

Peterhouse Farm needed to know how many vehicles, people and even some types of animals used a private road over their land. To do this they turned to R-Com Technical and Retail Sensing. Working together we provided a customised traffic survey system which fulfilled all their requirements.

Retail Sensing systems automatically analyse video from cameras positioned over the counting area, in this case the road. As the road was remote from the electricity supply we used batter-operated cameras. Our software automatically counted and classified cars, heavy goods vehicles, farm vehicles people and the animals passing beneath the camera.

The counts are all time-stamped for the farm to learn the busiest periods and compare changes over time.

Our Traffic Survey System

Live video is analysed by our counting and classifying algorithms. Data is regularly logged for a historical record and analysis – discover most busy times of day and changes over time. Live data is also made available. Contact us to learn more.

Retail Sensing

Retail Sensing manufacture the Video Turnstile people counting, vehicle sensing and smart city equipment. Our systems not only measure footfall and traffic, but monitor queues, display occupancy, track shoppers around stores, show heat maps of most visited areas, record passenger numbers, count pedestrians and provide retail intelligence and key performance indicators.
